The specimens used in my artwork come from three sources: raised by me, found naturally deceased in North Carolina, or obtained from licensed suppliers and conservatories that support insect conservation. I’m committed to working with sources whose practices align with my own values, with an emphasis on responsible collection and conservation. I believe the beauty of these creatures should be appreciated without contributing to the depletion of wild populations or harming the ecosystems they belong to.
Yes! The florals featured in my work are real and carefully preserved. Many are foraged locally by me, allowing me to incorporate pieces of the natural world directly into my artwork.
